Chamber Opposes MMWD Proposed Moratorium on New Water Hook-ups

The Chamber leadership voted to oppose a proposed moratorium on any new water hook-ups being considered by MMWD. We have expressed our deep reservations regarding MMWD’s proposal for a moratorium on new water service connections during the current drought.  At first glance, this move might seem relatively sensible in that the drought is real, and serious and we should all be working together as a community.  However, a moratorium in fact has the potential for serious and costly implications to Marin’s economy as it recovers from the Covid- 19 pandemic.  We believe those impacts may very likely be out of balance with any perceived benefits.
