    Just over one year ago, MCE and the San Rafael Airport unveiled Marin County's largest installation of solar panels - which can produce nearly 1 Megawatt, enough to power over 1,200 homes per year!

    When the sun shines on Marin County and the City of Richmond, it offers more than just another beautiful day.  Thanks to the forward-thinking energy initiatives pioneered by MCE, a sun-filled sky now illuminates the future of renewable energy and local sustainable development.

    Exactly one year ago last week, MCE and the San Rafael Airport, unveiled the largest solar installation in Marin County. With 4,600 panels installed on 48 hanger rooftops, the project has a maximum capacity of nearly 1 Megawatt - enough energy to power approximately 1,200 homes per year and reduce greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 223 cars from the road for an entire year, or planting 29,000 trees.¹
