Daniel Lemar Miller   A Celebration of Life

DANIEL LEMAR MILLER passed away on December 6, 2012. He was born in San Francisco on September 27, 1924 and spent his early years residing in Noe Valley. Dan was a third generation San Franciscan. During WWII he served in the Army and was stationed near Manchester, England where he met the love of his life, Maureen Toner. They were married 67 years and had four sons, Gary, Dan, Eric and Mark and six grandchildren, Reid, Andrea, Carla, Keith, David and Daniel.

Dan had a passion for carsand was highly regarded as a Cadillac salesman. He collected and restored rare vehicles, including his prized red 1939 Jaguar SS100. He had a gift for all things mechanical and could fix anything. During the early years at the Panama Hotel, he was responsible for all of the remodeling and repairs. He also loved to "Garage Sale" and find treasures for the Panama. He had a love of adventure and new challenges. He flew his Cessna 172 around much of California. He enjoyed spending weekends with his family water skiing in his many ski boats. He sailed his Vanguard 32 out of Sausalito for many years and was fearless no matter how high the seas or winds—with his poodle Bo at his side. On the ski slopes he was known as “The Hawk” because of his aggressive posture in attacking the steepest of terrain. In his later years he enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved Maureen, circling the globe many times. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed his life to the maximum. He was a wonderful role model as a husband, father and grandfather. His family and friends will miss him.
