First Federal Savings initiated community support activities in response to the Marin spike in COVID-19 cases that have impacted our medical professionals and the business community.
• “Taste of San Rafael
” lunch program provides lunches each weekend for the entire month of July for medical teams at a local hospital. The financial institution became aware that the privately run hospital cafeteria had closed on weekends during the crisis.
• First Federa
l is purchasing the lunches from several local restaurants with a two-fold purpose:
a) To recognize and demonstrate appreciation for what our medical professionals are faced with during this unprecedented medical challenge.
b) To support the restaurants by purchasing the lunches and to also provide them additional exposure to a new patron base.
• Food Bank Support
. First Federal is also aware of the current economic and wellness issues that are dramatically impacting nearby underserved districts. To that end, the Association has made recent corporate donations, with matching funds from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, in the amount of $20,000 split between the SF/Marin and Alameda Food Banks.
From Michael Freed… 20-year San Rafael Chamber member and Chef/Owner of Bogie’s Too Café in downtown San Rafael:
I can’t begin to thank First Federal for your support. As you have heard, this has been and is going to be a rough time and everything helps. Your support means a tremendous amount to the Community. Thanks to everyone at First Federal
