    Please join us at Whistlestop on Wednesday, March 28, from 10-11am for an informative presentation on Social Security benefits by Michael Zaidlin. Michael is the founder of Madrone Investment Advisory LLC, a financial planning and investment management firm based here in San Rafael, and has spoken often to professional groups about Social Security as well as on relevant financial topics for those in or near retirement.
    The presentation will also cover the role of Social Security as longevity insurance, the taxation of benefits, the ability to withdraw and suspend benefits, the impact of the earnings test, the potential impact on benefits of working past age 60, and the impact of CALSTRS pensions on Social Security benefits for public school teachers.
