We met in February with Marin Municipal Water District and key community members regarding possible solutions to allocations and entitlements. The idea of a Cap & Trade program was introduced, which could lead to more efficient allocations and more favorable rates, especially in times of conservation.

Monthly automatic meter reads were introduced as a possible means to help identify leaks and better determine usage. Prohibitive items, such as unclear grey water system requirements and the mandate to upgrade fire sprinkler systems with a certain level of building upgrade were identified as key obstacles for business owners to upgrading a building.

A new, streamlined means of business customers contacting MMWD about permit requirements and services was also discussed.
