Title: Corporate Development Manager

Professional Duties: Beau started at the California Film Institute in 2009 as the Development Coordinator for the 32nd Mill Valley Film Festival and has since risen to his current position of Corporate Development Manager, now responsible for over $2M annually in cash and Trade sponsorships. Beau first entered the festival world in 2008 with the San Francisco Film Society in Development for the 52nd San Francisco International Film Festival, and has worked in a variety of aspects of film festival production including marketing, membership, and event production. 

Education and Professional Experience: A graduate of the University of Southern California, Beau studied Journalism and Cinema, which led to a USC Industry Internship and an Assistant position with Columbia Pictures.  After ten-plus years on the studio-side of the Los Angeles/Hollywood film industry at Sony and subsequently with film & television producer Leonard Goldberg’s Mandy Films, he returned to the San Francisco Bay Area to rediscover his cinephile roots through independent film production and foreign and documentary film exposition. An active member of the Screen Actors Guild, Beau is also the Artist Coordinator for SF Sketchfest, one of the most prominent comedy festivals in the country.

Chamber of Commerce Role: Beau joined the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors in 2014.

Professional Duties: Robert manages the day to day operations of the San Rafael Airport. San Rafael Airport is a private general aviation airport housing 100 aircraft hangars and a small industrial park. In 2001-2004, Robert managed a complete Master Plan Renovation of the airport, including the installation of a 45 kilowatt rooftop solar project to provide renewable green power for airport operations. In October 2012 he completed Marin County’s largest solar project, which provides renewable power to Marin Clean Energy customers. He is currently working on a LEED Gold certified community sports facility to be located at San Rafael Airport.

Professional Experience: Robert is a principal with family-owned JHS Properties, a local Marin County based real estate investment firm that develops, owns, and manages office and industrial properties. Notable projects include the Autodesk World Headquarters, Bay Park Office Center, and San Rafael Airport, all located in San Rafael.

Accomplishments/Community Service: Robert serves on the Operations Committee of the Marin Art & Garden Center.

Other Volunteer Activities: Robert helps coach his son's and daughter’s local sports teams, and is an active participant (and current Chief) with his children in Indian Guides and Indian Princesses.

Professional Duties: Develop and manage the Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center in Marin County with the goal of helping to alleviate poverty in the county and redefining the meaning of entrepreneurship from merely business startups to a key set of tools for self-sustainability in the New Economy.

Professional Experience: Boku has worked with 19 startups over 40 years primarily in high tech including ten for-profit businesses and nine non-profit agencies. His education in business was through experiences and calculated strategies.

Accomplishments/Community Service: Taking profits from our for-profit businesses, Boku recognizes that a vibrant business does not exist without a vibrant community so he developed funds, projects and in some cases, nonprofit groups at a grassroots level to make direct improvements. Boku personally dedicated 18 years working as a volunteer fulltime with inner-city residents with few options by training them as entrepreneurs.

Other Volunteer Activities: Boku built a video production business providing new filmmakers an opportunity to hone their skills on a real world level as they created stories of the inner cities. Founded the Kodama Scholarship Fund and the Kodama Family Fund during the 1990s and 2000s.

Personal Information: Boku has been associated with Marin County since the 1960s both as a close neighbor (San Francisco and Berkeley) and as a resident (San Anselmo). He has three grown children, Marcus, Justin and Erin, all doing great, and a wife of 36 years, Donna. Boku graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Journalism. He grew up in San Francisco in the Western Addition and the Sunset Districts. Boku has been a disciplined gym rat for decades, an avid runner and cyclist and a voracious reader of business books (one per week).

Accomplishments/Community Service: Pat participates in the annual California Coastal Clean-Up Effort; have worked with Habitat for Humanity building a new home for a local family. Pat also works with Buckelew Programs, the Lance Armstrong Foundation and the Spina Bifida Association.

Rick served as CEO of the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce from 2003 thru 2009. Before his appointment as CEO in Vallejo, Rick worked at the Napa Chamber of Commerce as Director of Membership for five years.

Other Volunteer Activities: Rick is a current member of Marin County School to Career Partnership, Workforce Investment Board of Marin County, San Rafael Pacifics Advisory Board, Western Association of Chamber Executives Board of Directors, Northern California Golf Association and BABBS Golf Club.

Education: Rick has degrees from Orange Coast College and the University of California, Davis with a focus in Communications Studies. He holds both the IOM (Institute of Organizational Management) and CAE (Certified Association Executive) professional certifications.


Personal Information: In 2012 Rick was named one of the "Top 40 under 40" in the North Bay Business Journal. For nearly ten years Rick was an active mentor in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program; he was recognized as Napa County Big Brother of the Year in 2002.

Rick has been married to the lovely and talented Ellie Bishop Wells since 2006. They like to spend time with their young daughter Cadence, cooking and playing golf.
