Program Details: The ENVIRONMENTAL YOUTH FORUM is a three-day event, held at the Christopher B. Smith Rafael Film Center, featuring a collection of challenging and engaging films, speakers and exhibits by local environmental activists. Through the screening of dozens of films on multiple screens, this three-day forum offers some of the newest and best thinking about environmentalism. It introduces students to environmental-related opportunities and concerns such as green jobs, green lending and moral dilemmas that arise from issues such as global warming, war, over-population, genetically modified foods, etc. The forum has an “active cinema” component wherein representatives from a wide range of environmental groups provide information about the work of their organizations at tables in our “active cinema” room.
