Community leaders will gather at Terrapin Crossroads on April 5, 2014, at 6:00pm to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership(CVNL). The evening will feature silent and live auctions, dinner, and entertainment by Salvador Santana.The fundraising event has garnered support from nonprofit and corporate leaders locally and nationally, including Karen Baker, Chief Service Officer of CaliforniaVolunteers, and Anne Wilson, CEO of United Way of the Bay Area. Since 1964, CVNL has supported the community through programs and services focused on nonprofit leadership development, community service, and education and training for nonprofit and volunteer leaders. “We look forward to celebrating this milestone,” said Linda Davis, CEO. “We hope this celebration will reinforce the Center as a valuable resource to the nonprofit community for the next 50 years.”
Marin’s nearly 2,000 nonprofits rely on CVNL to help build their management capacity, consulting, transition services, and volunteer management and support. “Nonprofits are the soul of a community," said CVNL Board Chair Maureen Sedonaen, President and CEO of Goodwill SF-San Mateo-Marin. "CVNL is about to move into its next 50 years of partnering with those who take up a cause and stoke an ember into a blaze: CVNL is committed to those who feed the flame."
