The Agricultural Institute of Marin is seeking two (2) recent college graduates to complete the inaugural AIM Zero Waste Fellowship from September 2022 to August 2023. The overarching goal of this fellowship is to mitigate climate change by reducing the amount of organic and plastic waste generated at AIM Farmers Markets in Marin County.
The two Fellows will use community engagement strategies to research and propose holistic and equitable zero waste policies and infrastructure systems at our Marin County farmers markets. These proposed recommendations will be used to create permanent zero waste practices for all of AIM’s Farmers Markets and lay the foundation for achieving zero waste at Marin’s future Center for Food and Agriculture.
Fellows will primarily spend their time at AIM’s office and farmers markets doing field research. One day per week will be spent working at Marin Sanitary Service’s Community Outreach Team to gain a well-rounded understanding of our waste system.
