San Rafael Leadership Institute
Graduates of the San Rafael Leadership Institute are empowered with the skills to develop their own leadership vision. Graduates have gone on to take leadership roles at the local, regional, state, and national levels.
This year’s Leadership Institute Class has taken on the issue of employee commutes
and put together a toolkit for Marin employers. The toolkit includes localized
information about commute options, resources, and easy programs employers can
provide their employees to reduce transportation costs and greenhouse gases as
well as increase productivity and morale. Join us at the kick-off event and graduation. Plus pick up your free toolkit! At the event, you’ll hear from speakers and learn
about commute options from Marin Transit, Marin County Bicycle Coalition,
Transportation Authority of Marin, SMART, Golden Gate Transit, Enterprise
Vanpool and 511 Rideshare.
Applications are now available for the San Rafael Leadership Institute 2013-2014.

The San Rafael Leadership Institute sponsored by the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce offers a singular opportunity to learn about current issues in local government, transportation, education, law enforcement, community diversity, the arts, the media, the economy, environment, agriculture, health and human services. Students do this while developing leadership and team-building skills. The Institute meets once a month from October through June. Each monthly session is held at a different location in and around San Rafael and Marin, exposing participants to local businesses, community centers and government facilities. Each month offers a program designed with Leadership Institute graduates, and addresses current events and issues. Participants are actively engaged throughout the program, as they respond and debate with local leaders about cutting edge topics for San Rafael and Marin County.
“The dedicated people who graduate from the Chamber Leadership Program are making a commitment to our community by participating, engaging and learning how to be good leaders in our county. A real leader has the vision, commitment and passion to accomplish important goals. John Quincy Adams once said, ‘If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.’” FORMER MAYOR ALBERT J. BORO, CITY OF SAN RAFAEL
