RE: AB 2463 (Quirk-Silva and Cervantes): Small Business Assistance Act of 2018 – SUPPORT

Dear Assembly Members Quirk-Silva and Cervantes:

On behalf of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce, which represents nearly 625 Marin County employers with over 26,000 employees, I am writing to inform you of our support of AB 2463 relating to the Small Business Assistance Act of 2018.

AB 2463 designates the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development as the lead state entity for overseeing the state’s Small Business Development Centers.  In addition, the state identifies the Small Business Development Centers as a federal program, operating in California, in order to promote free counseling and low-to-no cost training (around starting, operating, sustaining and providing capital for growth for small businesses) and many other services provided by the Small Business Development Centers.

The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce is a member-based business advocacy organization providing a strong voice in support of the economic vitality of our community. The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce is a partner organization to the Marin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and believes the work it does in the County benefits our local economy.

    Sincerely,

    Joanne Webster
