Business Advocacy - San Rafael Chamber

The San Rafael Chamber of Commerce believes that a healthy business community is invaluable to the community as a whole. The Chamber tracks local, state and federal issues impacting business and maintains close contact with city, county and state legislators to promote beneficial business legislation and discourage detrimental regulations. The Chamber participates in monthly meetings with San Rafael's Mayor and city staff. The Governmental Affairs Committee tracks issues impacting business -- from taxation to workers' compensation and employer mandates. San Rafael Zoning Amendments: Support (View Letter)

1. Downgrade Use Permit review from Planning Commission to the Zoning Administrator for commonly-requested and non-controversial land uses.
2. Parking requirement modifications are also downgraded from the Planning Commission to the Zoning Administrator.
3. Parking provisions in the West End are proposed to be changed to allow changes in use with no increase in parking
